The most relevant work for Stordes and for its audiences lies in the future. There the value is to be felt. Stordes creates and looks for what is yet to be discovered.
Our future work will be carried by our earlier work, our experiences and what fascinates us. Our updates give a good impression of our thinking and a representative selection of past work highlights our oeuvre.
What you may expect of our future work is grounded in a loosely formulated approach, operated in a variety of manifestations and nourished by recurring, yet evolving references.
a loosely formulated approach
In our future work you will recognise three components that guide Stordes in building initiatives to enhance the effective organisation. Wonder, projection and scenarios of acting interlink and form an amalgam of iterations.
It is wonder that inspires the making of art. It evokes the freedom to question the current and the urge to produce relevant manifestations. Stordes helps to find that wonder again within organisations.
In the projections of this wonder on the reality of the organisation new representations become perceptible. The projections distort common views, enlarge the essence and colour the specific context. Unseen possibilities emerge.
These possibilities are translated in scenarios of acting. Scenarios capture the creation of enriched acting in revealing formats. They allow the activation of acting in the reality of the organisation.
manifestations
Our work is defined by initiatives. Every initiative outlines a context and an approach for that specific piece of work.
These initiatives become manifest through a mix of interventions and outcomes: workshops, presentations, installations, books, guides, instructions, études, talks, performances, videos, exhibitions, dérives, urban walks, visits.
The manifestations are the constituting elements in the loosely formulated approach for the work for organisations. For every organisation the manifestations will differ according to specifics of the organisation and its context.
Theimprobable workshops of the art thinking networks in which Stordes participates and the radical paris encounters are two established, more general initiatives to experience the cross-over between art and organisations.
references
The following concepts and ideas guide our work, in versatile and profound manners.
contemporary art
That goes without saying. Stordes is after all a studio for contemporary art.
wat is wij (what is us)
A notion that brings us back to the essence of what an organisation is: a social sculpture. A human made leverage of cooperations, materialised in its acting, to provide value, expressing meaning and constituting a societal tissue.
agony of attention
The need of attention permeates our society with ever more impact. The reality of the resulting agony motivates us to constantly find distinctive means of interaction that weave tissues of profound attention in a organisation and its umfeld.
language drives action
Flip the unwanted and corrosive language to one that resembles the genuine ideas about what a truly effective organisation is. A rephrased language leads to wanted and enriched acting.
lightness
In the end people carry the organisation, not structures. Trust them to do so. Organisational frugality combined with delicacy and poetry to reverse the addictive inclination to the comfort of complexity. In der Beschränkung zeigt such erst der Meister.
